Remember me? I'm the person who used to update this blog.
I've had a case of nothing to write about lately and now I have a mutant cold/flu thing.
We had the appointment with the head doctor last week to talk about a helment for Nolan's flathead. In flathead world, they go by adjusted age. They like to correct the flatheads between 4-7 months. Nolan is only 3 1/2 months adjusted. (That was the first time anyone referred to him by his adjusted age.) We go back in 6 weeks to see if his head is any better. The dr said about 50% of flatheads correct themselves (but, I've learned that stats are meaningless).
We started feeding him cereal a couple of weeks ago. He's catching on to it.
Giant Nolan is now wearing 6-9 month clothes. I look at him and wonder what happened to tiny 5 lb Nolan. Then, I realize I know what happened: Giant Nolan ate him.
I have pictures for you, but like I said I have some type mutant cold/flu thing so I'm going back to the couch (and my tissues and my cold medicine and my water and my cookies).

Nolan is huge!
Nolan weighs 16 pounds! He is in the 75th percentile for his weight! Can you believe that? It took him 1 month to get on the growth charts. He's making up for lost time.
He is 24 3/4" long - about the 50th percentile. His tiny head is finally big enough to make it on the charts - 10th percentile.
The doctor told us we can start giving him rice cearal. We'll probably start that tomorrow. He doesn't take his eyes off of us when we eat. I'll take lots of pictures of his first meal.
He got 4 shots in his legs and he screamed! I gave him some tylenol when we got home. He is wiped out in his crib right now.
We have been referred to a rehab place to get him a band for his flathead. (I call him my little flathead.) We think his flathead is partially due to him being so early. His bones were supposed to have 5 more weeks of hardening!
The doctor was pleased with his progess. He is doing everything a 4-month-old should be doing.

words and stuff
Nolan's going to be 4 months old Thursday. Can you believe that tiny, 5lb Nolan is going to be 4 months old!
He is talking and smiling all the time. He thinks "Hi Nolan" is the funniest thing ever. When he's awake, all he does is talk, smile, and laugh.
He has this thing on his carseat that he loves to talk to. We went to Cary's friend's house the other day and Nolan talked and played and laughed the whole way home (it was a 30 min. drive)! He would hit his friend. His friend would rattle, Nolan would laugh. It was cracking me up! He was my entartainment for the drive home.
His 4-month well baby visit is Friday morning. I will update this weekend and tell you how many tons he weighs now. I'm guessing he's at least 15 pounds (5 of those pounds are his thighs, the other 10 is his belly).
More pictures!

The New Year's Post
I'm so glad 2006 is OVER! That was one long year.
We spent last new year's eve with Caleb at Egleston. I wanted to start the new year as a family. The nurse brought us some juice to toast. We wished Caleb a happy new year. I told him he would be home soon, some time in 2006. I told him 2006 would be good year.
We spend new year's eve this year with Nolan at home on our couch. No beeping NICU noises, no alarms, no wires, no nurses, no doctors, no pulse-ox, no IVs, no isolette, just Nolan, Cary, me, and Dick Clark.
My new year's resolutions:
1. Lose 30 pounds
2. Do not get pregnant
3. Keep Nolan wireless and healthy
4. Eat healthy
5. Raise money for WalkAmerica* and March of Dimes
6. Do not get pregnant (I know its on the list 2 times, but after getting pregnant less then 3 months after having Caleb, I think I need to list it at least 2 times. Maybe 3.)
7. Do not get pregnant
See over in the links? I started a WalkAmerica team. You can join the team and raise money, or you can donate money. I'm walking in memory of Caleb, in honor of Nolan, and to stop premature birth! Hedda also has a team for you southsiders. I don't care if you donate to my team or to Hedda's team. All the money goes to March of Dimes and that's all the really matters. (But, my team is better. All the cool people are donating to my team.)
