The infection's gone!

Caleb’s infection is gone and he should be done with his antibiotics tomorrow.

His feedings are going great! He is back up to 35 ccs every 4 hours. He has very little residuals and he is pooping!

He is now a giant 9 pounds, 4 ounces.

He is still on CPAP. I don't know when they will try the nasal cannula again. They can't give him a bottle until he is on the nasal cannula. He has only been fed through a feeding tube. He has never eaten from a bottle.

2/21 Update:
They put Caleb on the nasal cannula this morning at 8am.

I was an 8 week premie, blue, hairless, no finger or toe nails... I was sickly for the first 3 or 4 years of my life. That was 54+ years ago, 10/51, when anesthesia was administered through a gauze cloth covering a strainer that was placed over the mouth.

Despite being hatched during the medical dark ages, and except for the self-inflicted injuries of chocolate, red meat, and cigarettes, I've done quite well over the years.

They practice medicine a whole lot better now. God bless.

You need to make sure you take a picture the first time you get to feed him with the bottle. You can make everyone cry again.

We miss you guys, and we are keeping Caleb in our thoughts and prayers everyday! He looked so cute in the pictures with the shoes. Keep hanging in there.

All our love,
Chad and Meredith
